A birthday road trip felt like the perfect excuse to wander through Montreal with a roll of black and white film in my camera. The city felt chilly at this time of year, which added a bit of grit to the frames, though it also made me want to return when the streets are buzzing in summer. I’m equally tempted to come back in deep winter and photograph the city under a blanket of snow. Either way, Montreal’s atmosphere makes it a brilliant place to get lost with a camera.
